Sometimes we even dress up like our favorite characters in historically accurate costumes! What do we do at the Historical Novel Society conference? Well, mainly we nerd out on history and writing craft.
We historical novelists work in our own little writer caves, and this conference is our main chance to get together in person. My first stop is San Antonio, Texas, where I'll be attending the bi-annual North American conference of the Historical Novel Society. Tomorrow I'll be taking an early flight-the first of a string of travels that will take me into July. I'm kicking off June with a few busy days at my desk.
